CANCELLATION OF S511987 Update on incident in Mozambique Gemfields Group Limited Incorporated in Guernsey. Guernsey registration Number: 47656. South African external company registration number 2009/012636/10 Share code on JSE:GML (General Segment of JSE Main Board) / AIM:GEM ISIN: GG00BG0KTL52 | LEI: 21380017GAVXTCYS5R31 ("Gemfields" or the "Company" or the "Group") Update on incident in Mozambique LONDON, 16 OCTOBER 2025 On Monday 15 October 2025, a group of approximately 40 illegal miners marched on the mine gate at Montepuez Ruby Mining ("MRM"). They proceeded to attack Mozambican police officers present at the gate, killing two, one of whom was a commander of Mozambique's Natural Resources Protection Force. No MRM employees or contractors were injured in the attack and onsite conditions have been calm since. MRM has been informed that the attack may be related to district immigration authorities investigating, earlier in the day, suspected illegal immigrants in a local village and during which it is reported that an individual died. As previously disclosed, in recent weeks, the operation of MRM's new processing plant, in the final commissioning process, has been impacted by illegal miners sabotaging the plant supply infrastructure. Gemfields and MRM continue to engage with the appropriate Mozambican governmental authorities and remains committed to the safety and security of its employees, contractors and host communities. -ENDS- Further information on Gemfields Group Limited can be found at: GEMFIELDSGROUP.COM To join our investor mailing list, contact us on: gemfields.com ENQUIRIES GEMFIELDS Sean Gilbertson / David Lovett / Heinrich Richter ir@gemfields.com T: +44(0) 20 7518 3400 SPONSOR (JSE) Investec Bank Limited NOMINATED ADVISER Panmure Liberum (AIM) & BROKER Scott Mathieson / Amrit Mahbubani / John More T: +44(0) 20 3100 2222 PRESS ENQUIRES, GEMFIELDS Helena Choudhury / Albertina Namburete HEAD OFFICE, LONDON helena.choudhury@gemfields.com / albertina.namburete@gemfields.com NOTES TO EDITORS About Gemfields Group Limited Gemfields is a world-leading miner of coloured gemstones, which is dual-listed on the Johannesburg and London AIM stock exchanges.
